Social Initiatives

The Galvan Foundation addresses Hudson’s diverse social needs by partnering with local organizations,
providing grants to area nonprofits, and planning programs that directly serve community residents.

Social Initiatives

  • We are investing over $30 million in Columbia County, creating and preserving over 180 units of affordable and special needs housing, a library, senior center, after school programs, alternative learning program, early college program, a workforce development program, foreclosure prevention program, homeownership programs, and a homelessness prevention program.
  • This year we are creating 29 units of affordable housing, a 25 room motel, a childcare center, and an emergency food service center.
  • In the next 5 years, we will create over 50 units of housing. We use the income from our buildings to support organizations serving Hudson’s most vulnerable.
GALVAN ARMORY

Galvan Armory is a community center providing a comprehensive array of educational and social services in a single location, including Hudson Area Library, Hudson Senior Center, Perfect Ten Afterschool Program, and soon The Starting Place childcare center.
